Marcello Chelli  European Head of Distribution and Retail Lyxor ETF

In this newly created role, Marcello Chelli will be tasked with promoting and expanding the use of ETFs among distributors and wealth professionals across Europe, against the backdrop of growing appetite for ETFs from European individual investors.

The role will also involve the creation of new vehicles to facilitate the distribution of ETFs to retail investors, across disciplines within Lyxor and Societe Generale.

Lyxor is set to significantly increase its presence in the European ETF space through its expansion in Germany, following the planned acquisition of Commerzbank’s Comstage ETF range. Germany is one of the most dynamic retail markets on the continent.

Marcello Chelli will also be responsible with harmonising Lyxor’s best commercial and marketing practices on retail markets across Europe.

“We know retail investors will be one of the key forces behind the continued growth of the ETF market in Europe in the coming years.

It is important that we adapt in order to fully capture that trend by being able to present them with innovative solutions taking into account changing saving needs, the rise of online distribution as well as a more demanding regulatory framework.

With 13 years in charge of Lyxor ETF sales in Italy, Marcello has a deep understanding of what drives distributors and individual retail investors and I believe he’ll be instrumental in helping us achieving this goal”, Matthieu Mouly, Chief Client Officer at Lyxor ETF.

Marcello Chelli has 22-years’ experience in capital markets (initially in Bank of America and Borsa Italiana) and in the last 13 years he has been Responsible for Lyxor ETF and Co-Head Cross Asset Distribution Sales for Societe Generale in Italy. Marcello graduated in Economy at Bocconi University in Milan.
