The listing of a range of equity and fixed income ETFs on the Borsa Italiana is the first step towards achieving Vanguard’s goal of lowering and simplifying the cost of investing for Italian investors.
Vanguard was founded in 1975 on the simple but revolutionary idea that funds should be managed in the sole interests of their clients.
Today, Vanguard manages $5.1 trillion on behalf of more than 20 million investors worldwide, as at 30 November 2018, offering a range of index and active mutual funds and ETFs.
Sean Hagerty, Head of Europe at Vanguard,, comments: “Our mission is to help investors achieve their goals by being one of the world’s highest value providers of investment products and services. We want to continue to reduce costs and complexity for investors, as we have done globally for over 40 years. This is why we are very excited to bring our value proposition to Italy.”
Simone Rosti, Head of Italy at Vanguard, added: “Today marks another milestone for Vanguard as we list our products on the Borsa Italiana. ETFs are increasingly popular as they enable investors to build broadly diversified, low-cost portfolios. We are especially looking forward to partnering with our clients including asset managers, banks, insurance companies and pension fund managers as well as professional clients managing products and savings for and on behalf of retail clients – to give them the best chance for investment success.”
